We are delighted to announce the opening of our new dedicated oncology ward. This is separate from the main wards and operating areas and will be used largely for day-patient chemotherapy treatments. This will provide a secure environment and help to protect these vulnerable patients from opportunistic infections by commensals from other patients, and minimise the risk of exposure to cytotoxic chemicals for staff and patients alike.
We are confident that this new facility will enhance our oncology service, provided by Shirley van Lelyveld, BVSc MSc (Clin Onc) Dipl.ECVIM_CA (Oncology) MRCVS, European Specialist in Veterinary Oncology.
